Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie (also simply known as Captain Underpants) is an upcoming American 3D computer-animated superhero comedy film based on the children's novel series of the same name by Dav Pilkey. The film is being produced by DreamWorks Animation and Scholastic Entertainment, with the animation by Mikros Image. It is being directed by David Soren, and stars the voices of Kevin Hart, Ed Helms, Nick Kroll, Thomas Middleditch, Jordan Peele and Kristen Schaal.
The film is scheduled to be released on June 2, 2017 by 20th Century Fox. It will be the last DreamWorks Animation film distributed by Fox following NBCUniversal's acquisition of DreamWorks Animation, which will start in 2019 with How to Train Your Dragon 3.

Synopsis
Two imaginative elementary school students, George Beard and Harold Hutchins, hypnotise their arrogant principal, Benny Krupp, who transforms into their titular kind hearted comic book creation known as Captain Underpants, and together, they are setting out to a dangerous journey in stopping a mad scientist Pippy Poopypants who threatens the world.
